Metaphors

Metaphors WALT: use metaphors to make our writing more descriptive. We took part in a “Get NZ Writing” project. We wrote on postcards and had to describe ourselves using metaphors. We sent our postcards to Hukanui School in Hamilton. They sent postcards back to us. Here are some metaphors from my poem. Sophie Beale is the Opera house because she loves to perform. When she looks in the mirror she sees an angel with a golden, glowing halo.

Swimming Term 1

For P.E in term 1 we have been working on our swimming skills. I am in the seals group. My goals are: tread water for two minutes, do a standard dive, swim one length breaststroke, swim a three length medley. I love backstroke and I need to work on my breaststroke kick.

WALT:

- a chosen planet’s location in the solar system.

- a chosen planet’s distance from earth.

- planets you will pass by to get to the chosen planet.

- obstacles that may be on the journey, e.g. Atmosphere, moons...
